Goofing Off

Put some words onto the page
That's all you have to do
And if you feel it resonating
Your draft will soon come true

I'm wishing (I'm wishing) for the draft I love
To find me (to find me) today
I'm hoping (I'm hoping)
And I'm dreaming of
The nice things (the nice things) reviewers'll saaaaaaaaay

If my manuscript starts singing back, I reserve the
right to make this face.

  1. Apparently I was obsessed with Snow White when I was in preschool (I only have the vague-est of memories of it, but there's photos and photos of proof) but according to my mom I'd run from the room screaming at the part where the prince starting singing, so...

I don't know what this says about my four-year-old self. But some good inspiration for the week. :)

    1. HAHAHAHAHA love it. As a kid, Maleficent was my favorite because she could turn into a dragon, lol. PRIORITIES.

  2. For some reason I always worried that the Evil Queen would be stuck as an old hag because we never get to see her turn back. She never turns back!!! It's so sad.

I liked The Little Mermaid best. Ursula rocked my world. I blame her for starting me on witches in my writing.

  3. OMG, don't get me started on witches. I used to have the worst nightmares about the wicked witch of the west (The Wizard of Oz). Mrs. Gulch, particularly scary to me, changes from riding her bike into that witch on a broom...with that green face.

I was scarred for life. Even today, I cannot watch it without some anxiety.
